Merle received a standing ovation from the eager audience of women, and men, of all ages. Guests were treated to four courses of delicious food – for the mains, prosciutto wrapped chicken breast and pan seared snapper - expertly prepared by the Boatshed ...

New Menus throughout the Regatta Hotel

Regatta Boatshed recently released its boldest menu yet with a variety of mouth-watering share plates in place of the traditional entrée dishes. With dishes like the Bourbon Braised Sticky Brisket and Chargrilled Souvlaki Lamb it’s no wonder the new menu has been so popular. “Share plates are really trendy at the moment, for obvious reasons. You can try a variety of dishes and aren’t limited to whatever entrée you decide on,” said Executive Chef, Dan Fleming. “From the share plates to the dessert, there is an amazing range of flavour in this menu. We want our guests to go on a taste ‘journey’, and I think we’ve definitely achieved ...

Regatta Hotel “Scrubs Up”

Regatta guests may have noticed a lot of very blue, medical-looking staff working behind the bar and in the Street Café. To raise awareness for the PA Foundation’s men’s health research initiative ‘Mandate,’ Regatta staff dressed up in surgeons’ scrubs for their Friday night shifts, generating a fair bit of customer amusement. Importantly though, they raised much needed funds for the initiative, which funds research into men’s health issues such as cancer and heart disease. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the Regatta Hotel team and the generosity of our customers, we were able to raise over $4000 for the cause.

Regatta Hotel ‘mans up’ for men’s health

International Men’s Health week is just around the corner, but when it comes to the topic of men’s health, most Aussie blokes would rather walk the plank than discuss the issue of what’s not working and what’s stopped working. The PA Research Foundation’s annual Men’s Health Campaign wants to change the way men think about health problems by raising awareness and crucial funds for men’s health. The foundation has teamed up with Regatta Hotel to send a wakeup call to all men, get them to make a date with their doctor and seek medical attention for any health concerns. “As a foundation we provide vital funding to research projects ...

140 years of the Regatta marked by a week of celebrations

Regatta Hotel turned 140 years old last week and celebrated with a week of activities, which included historical tours, official naming of “Merle’s Bar”, a Whisk(e)y appreciation night, ANZAC Day two-up and breakfast and a VIP birthday party to cap it all off! Merle Thornton, a lady dear to Regatta Hotel, cut the ribbon to “Merle’s Bar”, in honour of her and Rosalie Bognor’s protest at the Regatta in 1965. Famously recognised as a defining moment in Australia’s feminist movement, Merle and Rosalie chained their ankles to the foot rest of the ‘public bar’ to protest women’s rights. It was a pleasure having Merle return to the ...
