We're celebrating QLD Day at The Regatta Hotel on Thursday, June 6th! A highlight of this special day is to see major QLD landmarks lit maroon in celebration of our state's birthday, and the The Grand Lady of the Brisbane River will of course be proudly lit up. Kicking off from 6:30pm, Australian singer-songwriter, Nik Phillips, will be performing live in the The Courtyard, and it will no doubt be a memorable gig. There will also be a pop-up food stall serving succulent spit-roast beef rolls, made with South East QLD Diamantina Wagyu.  Go ahead and pair it with your favourite QLD wine! Regatta Hotel will be proudly celebrating Queensland Week, June 2 - 10, by highlighting the state's best flavours throughout the venue. From a Queensland wine tasting to a succulent spit roast bbq, guests will enjoy delicious local flavours and pours. 140 years of the Regatta marked by a week of celebrations

Regatta Hotel turned 140 years old last week and celebrated with a week of activities, which included historical tours, official naming of “Merle’s Bar”, a Whisk(e)y appreciation night, ANZAC Day two-up and breakfast and a VIP birthday party to cap it all off! Merle Thornton, a lady dear to Regatta Hotel, cut the ribbon to “Merle’s Bar”, in honour of her and Rosalie Bognor’s protest at the Regatta in 1965. Famously recognised as a defining moment in Australia’s feminist movement, Merle and Rosalie chained their ankles to the foot rest of the ‘public bar’ to protest women’s rights. Regatta Hotel celebrates 140 years

Regatta Hotel will celebrate its 140th birthday with a week of celebrations from Easter Sunday until Saturday 26 April. The week will include a special unveiling in “Merle’s Bar” from guest of honour Merle Thornton, who led a defiant women’s liberation protest at Regatta Hotel in 1965, a moment that became ingrained in the nation’s history as one of the first feminist insurgency movements.
