Regatta Hotel ‘mans up’ for men’s health
International Men’s Health week is just around the corner, but when it comes to the topic of men’s health, most Aussie blokes would rather walk the plank than discuss the issue of what’s not working and what’s stopped working.
The PA Research Foundation’s annual Men’s Health Campaign wants to change the way men think about health problems by raising awareness and crucial funds for men’s health.
The foundation has teamed up with Regatta Hotel to send a wakeup call to all men, get them to make a date with their doctor and seek medical attention for any health concerns.
“As a foundation we provide vital funding to research projects that are saving lives, from prostate cancer to heart disease, but all these projects mean nothing if we don’t get that research into the doctor’s surgery and part of men’s lives,” PA Research Foundation Chief Executive Officer Damian Topp said.
“You find time to go to the footy and you find extra time to give your boss at work. Well take time for yourself, for your family. So many diseases are prevented through early detection.”
The Men’s Health Campaign will be officially launched at the Regatta Hotel on June 12 with 4BC’s breakfast show.
Regatta Hotel will be announcing a number of fundraising initiatives to help raise money for the PA Research Foundation throughout International Men’s Health Week.
