Brisbane icon the Regatta Hotel hosted ‘RegattaFair’, a free beer, food and wine fair from Friday July 17 to Sunday July 19. The loading zone behind the Regatta was transformed into ‘The Lane’ which hosted premium brewers, wine makers and Regatta food stalls. The fair kicked off Friday evening with a great crowd of guests braving the cold. Saturday really was our day! The sun shone over the fair and drew the masses to bask in the summeresque weather.
Premium brewers included: Stone & Wood, Matilda Bay, Yenda, James Squire, Asahi, Cricketer’s Arm and local favourite, Newstead Brewery. The fair included the Queensland launch of Matilda Bay’s new pale ale, ‘Lazy Yak’. Treasury Wines featured their Pepperjack range at a special pop-up bar, as well as T’Gallant moscato. Treasury Wines also hosted the RegattaFair grape smashing competition, with fair-goers encouraged to participate. The food was created by the Regatta’s culinary team and included popular Regatta items such as cheese boards, caramel injected doughnuts, freshly shucked oysters and wood fired pizzas
‘The Lane’ featured live musicians throughout the festival, a flower stall, along with blues bands and tarot card reader in the Walrus Club, acoustic musicians in the Courtyard and DJ’s until late in the Regatta’s Main Bar.
